London National March for Palestine : Stop starving Gaza, Stop Arming Israel – Sat 9th Aug

In line with UCU national and local policy we warmly encourage members to attend the National March for Palestine on Saturday on 9th August.  

The main march assembles at 12 noon at Russell Square for a march to Downing Street.

There is a Trade Union block on the march, and UCU members are encouraged to march behind their branch banners.

Members will have seen or heard about the inhumane suffering of Palestinian people in Gaza that, according to the UN and numerous credible aid organisations, is already leading to death, and will lead to mass death by starvation.

Public pressure has forced some very limited and inadequate action by the UK Government to apply more pressure on Israel. More public pressure is needed to make the UK Govt call for an immediate unconditional ceasefire, backing this up with genuine actions, to force the supply of full humanitarian assistance, and to stop sending arms to Israel.
