National March for Palestine 11 October London

In line with our branch policy we would like to publicise two notices about upcoming Palestine-related events.

1. London National March for Palestine: End the Genocide: Stop Arming Israel; Stop starving Gaza – Saturday 11 October, 12 noon @ Victoria Embankment

In line with UCU national and local policy we warmly encourage members to attend the National March for Palestine on Saturday 11th October.  

We share the huge relief expressed across Palestine this morning that a ceasefire, however tenuous, might now take effect. Israel’s bombing campaign had not stopped in the past few days as talks were underway, and the casualty numbers have continued to mount.

The British government remains deeply complicit in Israel’s atrocities through its arms trade and military collaboration with Israel, and has increased its attempts to curtail the democratic right of Freedom to Protest. 

The main march assembles at 12 noon at Victoria Embankment for a march to Downing Street.

There is a Trade Union block on the march assembling at Cleopatra’s Needle, and UCU members are encouraged to march behind the branch banner.

2. Launch event for BRICUP’s “Why Boycott Israeli Universities” booklet, Tuesday October 21
