PEP2, Workloads and Health & Safety

A number of members have contacted UCU raising concerns about the workload demands being made of them by managers with regard to the implementation of the PEP2 process within very short timescales, when they already have very full workloads.

UCU advises members to prioritise their own health and safety. You are not required to work beyond your contracted work hours or agreed workloads. If you are unable to complete the work required for PEP2 submissions within deadlines specified by managers without risking your health and safety by working beyond agreed workloads and/or contractual hours you should inform your line manager.  If a line manager insists that PEP2 work is prioritised you can ask them to inform you which elements of your other existing work should be omitted or delayed in order to do so.

If you experience any push back from management please contact the branch via ucu@ucl.ac.uk so that we can support you.
