Petition: Please Sign – Stop Damage to PS Jobs & UCL Departments

As the EASE and MarComms process is currently being rolled out across UCL, there are two important actions members can take.

1. We are asking members to sign this petition calling for a pause of existing processes and a moratorium on any new ones falling under the UCL-wide EASE/MarComms restructuring rollout, and call on UCL to enter into negotiations with the campus trade unions.

There is a short summary on our website explaining 

I.             what the EASE/MarComms restructuring is, 

II.            why we believe it is likely to be damaging to departments due to its centralisation of teaching administration at faculty level, away from staff in departments, 

III.          why it is damaging to jobs, with many experienced long-serving staff being placed at risk of redundancy, and 

IV.          why we believe it is damaging to PS staff carrying out these new roles, their work patterns, with more work, spread over a number of departments, with fewer staff.

Please sign the UCL UCU petition to call on UCL to pause the restructuring process and negotiate with the unions.

2. In addition, if you are an Academic Board member:

Please also add your name to the requisition letter calling for a Special Meeting of the Academic Board to discuss this restructuring process, and consider a motion calling for a moratorium while its implications are properly debated in College.
