UCL UCU: Calling notice for General Meeting 10 March (Congress Motions)

This is a calling notice for an Extraordinary General Meeting of UCL UCU for 1-2pm Tuesday 10 March 2026 to consider branch motions for UCU Congress and Sector Conference.

The meeting will be held on Zoom. Members have been emailed a registration link.

Open call for motions

Members are invited to submit motions for Congress or Sector Conference of no more than 150 words. Guidance on writing a motion can be found on this page, or members are welcome to contact Branch Officers for drafting assistance. 

UCL UCU is entitled to submit one motion to Congress on general matters of policy, and two motions to the Higher Education Sector Conference on HE-specific matters.

Therefore if the branch meeting votes to support more than our motion entitlement we will take a vote to rank them in order to determine which we will submit.

Motions should be received by the branch at ucu@ucl.ac.uk by 12pm on Thursday 5 March, and they will be circulated the same day. Amendments to those motions may be proposed by 4pm on Friday 6 March.
